Hi everyone!
I wanna talk about Half Somali children. I notised that when a somali person have a baybe with foreign people, the baybe does not look Somali at all or even that one of his parent is Somali. I have seen a somali people married with white people and their children are just white or look arabic.
- What is wrong with our blood?
- Are we loosing our identity?
And Imagine if every somali have children with a non-somali.
What would happen?
PS: i am not being racist or something, i am just proud being somali.

Fadouma, I think that it's just genetics and how Allah makes them to be I guess. Genetically, there are some traits you have like (hair color, color of your eyes, etc.) that are dominant and others are recessive which means they don't show up if the dominant gene is present. If a certain trait for example blue eyes is present, that child will have blue eyes instead of brown eyes that might be a recessive gene. I have seen the children you are talking about, but I have also seen many children that look more Somali than the other race. And I think it's also how Allah makes them, I don't think that the Somali race will go anywhere, it's not possible. But sorry hopefully that made sense, I didn't mean to go scientific on you.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with inter-racial marriages and mixed kids as long as they are Muslims, I don't know what you guys mean by they come out funny or they turn out to be more of the other race than a Somali, one of the reason is because Somalis are already mixed, so if they married into whites, they are almost white because Somalis already have light-skin well the majority anyways.
Their features are midway of africans, whites and Asians. They are compartable with any race.
The worst mix is properly Somalis and West Africans or even worse South Sudanese, not that i have met anyone, i seen Somalis and Aussies and they have some pretty kids.

I for one believe that someone who marries a white person has an inferiority complex, and is not proud of who they are. I agree with Fadumo 110%. I’m completely against it, and so are most Somalis, they just cann't become integrated into the community. Inter-racial marriages is a very selfish thing to do, because your children won't be belong to either community.

The way you feel about West African and South Sudanese mix is how white people feel about Somali mixing with them. To white people we're all just black. Either support mix children 100% or be against it 100%
I might sound racist but the honest truth is South Sudanese and most West Africans are not atractive people to mix with same as most aboriginals, pacific islanders like the ones from Vanuatu, Fiji, etc, those indigenous got funny looks.

In Somaliland you are not even allowed to run for president if you're married to a non-Somali. It’s actually written into the constitution. There are a lot of men in Somaliland that divorced their non-Somali wives and married Somali woman just so they could win a seat in office, because they knew no one would vote for them without a Somali wife. My brother’s neighbor in Somaliland (who is in his early 40s) was previously married to a white woman before he came back home and married a Somali woman. He said marrying outside his own race was the biggest mistake he has ever made. He was never welcomed into his white wife’s family and they looked down at him and was an outcast of his own family. So being marrying a non-Somali you become a social outcast in our community. People will be polite to you to your face but behind your back they’ll make fun of you.
It is true however that marrying a spouse from a traditionally Muslim community is more socially acceptable and your family can integrate more easily within the Somali community but you still will not be welcomed as when your spouse is Somali.

I Grew up in France and believe me, in France there're unlimited of half djiboutian (mainly from somaliland) and half French.In my opinion those children will fit-in, in the French society.Because of their french names and their physical appearance. Guys just be proud at what you are and stick to your own race
i want to marry a man who is SOMALi,, its easy then i think, we got the same culture, same traditions, same language kkk,the same standards and values etc........somali people are handsome to,, you can have beautifull kids by a somali man of somali women.

Wow, so much hate in here, this is terrible. I guess I should introduce myself, I am a white Muslim, I converted to Islam 7 years ago and I married a Somali woman and have 2 beautiful half-Somali children, who by the way don't look very Somali at all as you stated. But that doesn't make them any better or worse than you are, we are all Muslim, and you should be ashamed of what you wrote. I can just imagine if I wrote a topic about white people losing their identity because of marrying blacks, I'd be shot in the street.
I'm not telling you that you have to like non-Somali guys for marriage or anything like that, but simply suggesting that you accept the fact that yes, Somalis are marrying other races, whether you like it or not, and I don't see a problem with that, and you shouldn't either.
By the way, I like how you put at the end that you're not being racist, as if that makes everything OK, like if I said "I'm not being racist, I just don't like my white people marrying blacks and proud to be white." Doesn't sound very good now, does it? |
